Here is one more miracle I have never, ever heard anyone suggest:
In the scripture, John 8:28-32. Jesus reports that when the corrupt Pharisees put Him on the cross, the He will prove (from the cross) He is the Messiah. Jesus stated that His Father is with Him, His Father has never left Him alone, and that He always does those things which please His Father.
Just a little footwork: Those things which please His Father refers to:
John 10:17-18 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Jesus, submitting to crucifixion, was following this commandment He received from His Father. I lay down my life. No man takes His life… Jesus wasn’t murdered on the cross! He had the POWER to spiritually depart from His living flesh, albeit near death. I propose Jesus’ spirit left his flesh on the cross, and His body then died. This is the power to yeild His flesh body up as a sacrifice to prove He had the divine power! The proof He is the Messiah… I’ve never heard this position, but I believe this yeilding of His flesh was as powerful a miracle as His resurrection! I happen to believe that those of us who are alive when He returns, we will likewise leave our flesh! Jesus had the power to perform miracles, and He had the power to sacrifice His body (spiritually depart from His flesh).
Thanks for considering… Tim
