Miracles & Healing Today

Jesus came so that we could live life abundantly, to the fullest. Jesus healed people spiritually (salvation), emotionally, and physically. He desires for you to be a healed and whole individual, inside and out.

John 10:10 (NIV)
10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Mark 5:15 (NIV)
15When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

Luke 7:48-50 (NIV)
48Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.
49The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

Jesus healed every kind of sickness and disease.

Matthew 4:23 (NIV)
Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Jesus told us follow His example.

John 14:12 (NIV)

Mark 16:15-18 (NIV)
15He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Each one of us has at least one of these nine gifts from the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (NIV)
7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Paul proclaimed the gospel with simple words and demonstrations of the Spirit’s power. He kept his focus on God’s power, not on his own preaching, to save people.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NIV)
1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.

God is not impersonal. He wants us to experience Him, to know He’s real, and to have a deep, loving, personal relationship with Him. Miracles and healing are just one expression of His love.

Hebrews 2:3b-4 (NIV)
3…This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Ephesians 3:17b-19 (NIV)
17…And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
